This school is amazing. The community is unlike anything I have ever seen. The students are truly what makes this school great for me. The administration however is a whole other thing. The administration recently got changed and the new administration has not been received well so far by the students. It's a great school for anyone out of the ordinary. As a queer person myself I can say: It has a strong LGBTQ population and the school environment is comfortable to be visibly queer in (besides the occasional middle schooler ... read more
I wish we had come to The Field School sooner. Our daughter started at Field in the 10th grade (a non traditional year to start high school) and she was welcomed and encouraged to be an engaged part of the community from the moment she was admitted. As parents we love Field because of the approach to teaching - students have a variety of ways that they can learn from their teachers and peers - the curriculum is engaging and the teachers know the students well and they work closely with the students. It's a place that brings ... read more
My daughter had an amazing experience at The Field School. She started in 7th grade after attending a very strict, traditional school 4th-6th. She really thrived at Field where they focused on her strengths and she was able to thrive and grow into a campus leader.
The Field School has been a wonderful school, not only for our son but for our family. When we first arrived at Field we were struck by how welcoming the community was. As a family, this was important to us. Our son started at Field in 7th grade and recently graduated. During his time at Field, I feel like our son found his voice. He wasn’t ever a quiet kid, but he had leadership skills that he hadn’t discovered yet. The environment at Field, was one that provided our son that opportunity to discover his leadership abilities... read more
Today, I attended the school art show called Studio Day. Field has a requirement that all students take art. The ceramics, digital art, paintings and sculptures were all outstanding. Teachers, students, parents, grandparents all mixed together in a joyful atmosphere. There was both a potluck and a food truck. Some folks did screen printing while others tried their hand at the pottery wheel. Studio Day represents the best of Field: creative, innovative, interested in embracing the full student, kind, fun and challenging.
Great School! Our experience at Field has been exceptional. The teachers are truly invested in my daughter's education and her growth as learner. Small class size enabled my daughter to gain confidence in her learning ability.
It's our daughter's first year at The Field School, and we couldn't be more pleased. Field pushes her daily in a variety of academic, athletic and social learning situations. The community is also a nurturing environment that provides her with a sense of belonging that builds her self-confidence! Class of 2029 Parents
Field has been a life-changing school for my daughter (who just entered the 6th grade there this past fall). From Day 1, the faculty and other students made her feel at home and a part of the community. Many schools encourage students to bring their "whole selves" into the school but Field really means it. The community is tight-knit and there is so much JOY at the school. The art and theater are incredible and the sports have been a great experience for my daughter, with the older girls on the team guiding & supporting the ... read more
My daughters are current 9th and 11th graders at Field. They have been students since 7th and 9th, respectively. Field has been a wonderful fit for our daughters and our family. Their focus on relationships between faculty and child as well as growth of the whole child has enabled our children to blossom. Staff has been responsive and proactive to situations and questions that arise; we sense the community genuinely cares about our children as people. Further, we appreciate the focus on critical thinking skills and guidance ... read more
