It's our daughter's first year at The Field School, and we couldn't be more pleased. Field pushes her daily in a variety of academic, athletic and social learning situations. Field has been a life-changing school for my daughter (who just entered the 6th grade there this past fall). From Day 1, the faculty and other students made her feel at home and a part of the community. Many schools encourage students to bring their "whole selves" into the school but Field really means it. My daughters are current 9th and 11th graders at Field. They have been students since 7th and 9th, respectively. Field has been a wonderful fit for our daughters and our family. Their focus on relationships between faculty and child as well as growth of the whole child has enabled our children to blossom. My daughter has had a great experience at the Field School. She started in the 7th grade, and the other students were so friendly and welcoming. Students refer to teachers by their first names, and there are no uniforms or strict dress codes. My daughter has especially enjoyed the year-long Studio Arts offerings (theater, band, photography, journalism). We just attended Back to School night where every positive thought we had about The Field School was reinforced... exponentially! The feeling of community each time we step onto school grounds is only one of the many things that make this amazing school stand apart from the rest. Our daughter, the youngest of 4 kids, enrolled at The Field School in 8th grade and has loved both the middle and upper school experiences. The teachers are VERY committed to working with each student from where each student is to bring out individual strengths and work on individual weaknesses. We have a child in middle school, and have been very impressed with the dedication and attention given to each student. The relatively new Head is fantastic, and she is working hard to make sure the school can be the best of everything - strong academics without overloading and stressing the kids out, and a true sense of community in a small enough size that each student can get individual attention, and isn't expected or even desired to be just like everyone else. It’s a great school and an amazing environment ! I love the teachers, staff and students. I know a Field education will bring me a lot of opportunities. I would love to see a more diverse student body from Field too! It’s fairly new so there is so much to improve on! Great work so far.
