I am writing regarding a hit-and-run accident that occurred 11/15/2024.I have coverage through State Farm but communicating with them has proven difficult. Tried to obtain policies and the agent submitted the account number and routing number from our local bank. State Farm alleged that the account number submitted was invalid ( never submitted to the bank so who knows ). Paid Homeowners on line with a credit card but was unable to do so for the automotive. Sent them checks for the automotive from the local bank and they never bothered to present them. I was on the phone with State Farm customer service on Wednesday October 15th @ approximately 9:00 AM. I was discussing my claim with customer service. I believe her name was Taneeka (I apologize if I butchered the spelling). She had been quite rude and unhelpful through the beginning of the call. I told her I needed her to do two things. Don’t waist your time with State Farm. They want to replace half of my roof from a hail storm, like only half the storm cloud was over my house. Also the customer service has been terrible. Any time you want to speak with your adjuster they are under qualified and have difficulty speaking proper English. My agent has been great but there is not much they can do when you’re dealing with a corporate giant. Take your business elsewhere!
State Farm denied my claim. I hired National Claims Adjusters, and then they sent me a non-renewal notice. Incompetent field adjusters. Just horrible!
Long story short, State Farm has acted in bad faith. Stating that building code in repairing my home does not apply. State Farm has stated that my repair is less than my deductible and that if i disagree with that then they will be open to hearing as to why. They will not listen to what myself, a contractor nor a certified engineer has to say about my roof. The only thing they keep saying is that they "disagree" with no explanation as to why. Their insurer is at fault for the accident, and they accepted the blame. However, a week later, I still can't get State Farm to pay for my car rental. They keep giving me the runaround and switching agents. Then they tell me today that I can only talk to the Adjuster. They refused to connect me with a manager, and the Adjuster doesn't take action or return calls. They are a big joke. I would never get insurance with them.
I would give ZERO stars if able to. I have spent the last two months trying to get a refund for my mother's and sister's auto insurance policy, My sister passed away in July (2025). A new policy was set up with my and my mother's name. The premiums were taken out of my mother's checking account. A refund was issued due to the cancellation of the prior policy and this was deposited into my deceased sister's bank account. She had no money in her account and I cannot get access to this money. Got an extra bill (70% of the premium) from State Farm auto-insurance, even though I paid for the full six-month premium upfront. Even though I signed a document stating that I don't need extra coverage from the insurance, they charged me extra (20%).
