The school had a reputation for being one of the better high schools in the East Tennessee Area. It certainly is a good school, however, it has dropped it standards in the last 10 years.
Oak Ridge High School is a place of great opportunity and incredible friendships. I would not trade anything to have gone to another school, as I am so greatful to be taught by tremendous teachers and all the staff.
ORHS can definitely help students get ready for college. There are lots of clubs and organizations at the school, and plenty of athletic teams. There are many talented and great teachers, but some really terrible teachers (particularly in the math department). Overall, ORHS is a rewarding but sometimes frustrating experience.
Oak Ridge High School is a school unlike any other. Not only do the teachers want to see their students succeed, but they celebrate the successes with the students. I have found this very important as I get ready to go to college because, reflecting back, my teachers are the people who have helped me become the best version of me possible. I have enjoyed my years here. The school is a really nice facility and has a huge arsenal of resources. I am a proud Wildcat and always will be. The music program and theater programs are also fantastic and are funded well. There are a range of classes for people of all different learning levels.
Oak Ridge High School taught me not only how to express my ideas effectively, but also how to think for myself. The rigorous coursework, phenomenal teachers, and abundance opportunities, almost OVER prepare a student for college. I would recommend the Oak Ridge School district for any parent trying to seek the best public education for their child.
Good learning environment, kind teachers, and helpful staff. Everyone at Oak Ridge was there for the students and wanted to see them succeed. The actions of my teachers meant a lot to me and shaped who I am today.
It is without a doubt the best school in the Oak Ridge Area. It is a larger school which means way more students but they do not believe in letting a student suffer because they don't have enough time.
Oak Ridge High School is one of the best schools for preparing you for college. As a current college freshman, I feel as though I was well prepared by my school.
