There is an incredible variety of clubs and activities to be a part of. You can have thought-provoking discussions with philosophy club. You can discuss world events and travel to Washington DC with IRC. You can be part of a basically professional-quality musical or play with masquers. The majority of the teachers I've had have been knowledgeable, caring, and hardworking people who really want what's best for their students. Not all the teachers are the same quality, but if you have one of the many good ones, it's a great experience.
What makes the school great is the vast variety of things you can do. If you want to build robots but also play the cello and also do graphic arts and study physics, you can. If you can't fit any more classes in your schedule, there's probably a club for whatever you're interested in. New classes and clubs are added every year. There really is something for everyone at this school, from athletes to musicians to scientists to engineers to artists, and you can be all of those things if you want.

I love my friends and some of the amazing learning opportunities i've had. Be it the dreaded Senter-logs (Analytical Journals) or the devil, "Major Author" (a 10+ page paper analyzing an author) the heavy workload gives me confidence I will be able to handle what will be thrown at me. The focus of the school on balancing the arts and STEM, though decreased from freshman year due to the recent transition to become an official STEM school, has been a nice way to encourage different releases.
