I was on the Recycling & Social Committee. I helped recycle the school's recycle bins every Friday. I also helped set up the homecoming dance. There are a lot of other clubs to join such as the Harry Potter club for those interested in Harry Potter. There were so many clubs one could join. All the facilities at ORHS are very nice. They finished renovations right when I came to high school. They had an athletic conditioning class that I was a part of my senior year. That was my chance to see the weight room & it was pretty nice. The equipment was great. The fan support at games are great. Teachers incorporate a variety of differently structured lessons to actively engage students in the learning material. Like any school, there are the select few who could really improve, but other than that, I am overall satisfied with the teaching staff at my school.
Supporting athletics is a huge part of student life. Our school has almost every sport you can think of, and although I don't play any of them, I've never heard bad things about the facilities, equipment, etc. There are even social media accounts set up for the student section of our sports games, and each one is themed differently so that more will attend.
The broad spectrum of different clubs offered by Oak Ridge High School is absolutely amazing. There truly is something for everyone from Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) to Pokemon and Harry Potter fan club. If students want to start their own club that does not already exist, they are warmly encouraged to do so.
Oak Ridge High offers an excellent blend cultures with the hospitality of the South. If you actually try here you can become a very well rounded and mature person.
Most of the teachers I've had have been decent at best except for a countable few which have been amazing.
Oak Ridge is on full lock down ever since last year when we had a couple of incidents but it seems that it was just a bad crowd because we haven't had but one or two fights this entire year. I feel Oak Ridge High is one of the safest schools around.
I don't eat lunch at the school anymore because they offer off-campus lunch for upper classmen but when I was younger I ate the sandwiches everyday and they were pretty good.
