Oak ridge high school has honestly been a really good experience for me. It’s where I’ve grown the most, not just in the classroom, but as a person. I’ve had teachers who actually cared and pushed me to do better, even when things felt difficult. I’ve made real friendships, learned how to manage my time, and figured out what I’m interested in and what I want to work toward. I was at ORHS until the middle of my junior year when i switched to online school, but OHRS is a great school in Tennessee. ORHS isn't part of Knox county or Anderson county school districts, it is its own district so things like days off and snow days wont be the same most of the time. OHRS has shorter summers but they get two weeks off in the fall, 3 in the winter, and two off in the spring. Oak Ridge High school has many great attributes associated with the well being of the students such as clubs and athletics, a wide variety of elective classes, and staff that are willing to help the students. As a student athlete who is in multiple clubs/teams, I dont exactly have all the time in the world to work on homework and study, however teachers are lenient and dont impose stressful work rules and deadlines that are unachievable.
This school truly taught me how to be ready for the future and made me want to go to school everyday. It made me love to learn.
Everything was great! Teacher and administration was always on top with a very athletic and academic school!
Oak ridge high school not only has amazing academics, but they also have a great system of voicing the concerns of the general population of ORHS to the administration. The administration and the Student Council connect quarterly to talk over concerns presented by representatives of each class to executives who can relay those issues to administrators.
There are several things celebrated at Oak Ridge, but the focus is primarily on athletes and those who are outstanding academically. I think other areas of the school could be grown and highlighted such as theater, TSA, and other creative outlets like photography, audio/visual, and journalism.
I loved going to school here, they have a lot of really great resources and things to do. they have so many places where you can grow and learn
They focused too much on small things rather than things that would actually matter. They also liked to lead people into certain categories rather than what they might have been interested in.
