I’ll start by saying that every single person I’ve spoken with from State Farm has been incredibly friendly. Two of their employees admitted that it was unusual, how poorly the company was handling my claim. This review is not a result of the people I’ve dealt with, but the way this company has dragged their feet, and failed to reach out to me when crucially necessary. I got involved with State Farm after a driver of theirs totaled my vehicle. After being in contact with them for some time via phone and email, they call me, ... read more

Disgusting service after over 20 years as a customer of State Farm in Charlotte. Their claims portal is a technical disaster; my repair shop can't get it to accept their inputs after several tries. After 6 weeks their adjuster called me directly to ask the repair shop to try to send the estimate again. Since I had the estimate, I offered to email it directly to them. Oh, no - you can't do that sir. It can only come from the the repair shop via the portal! I'll give them credit for one thing - they're top notch at stonewallin... read more

The experience I have had with State Farm has been nothing short of disappointing and frustrating, prompting me to switch insurance companies. On April 6, 2023, I informed my State Farm agent that I had sold my 2006 Corolla and requested a revision of my insurance quote and policy. The agent assured me that my new monthly payment would be around $140-150, as opposed to my previous monthly payment of $186 for two cars (a 2019 Mustang Ecoboost and the aforementioned Corolla) with a 20% multiple cars discount. To my surprise, m... read more

State Farm did nothing. They ruled my girlfriend at fault on an accident that clearly was not her fault. The guy was passing her on the interstate, pulled right in front of her and then he slammed on the breaks. My totaled car was taken to a towing place and I get a call saying I owe over $900 for towing and storage. The car salvaged price was around $300 to $400. I had to give my cars title to the towing business just so I didn’t have to pay over $900.00. I lost money because of State Farm and I am considering reporting to ... read more

If you have a total loss on your vehicle it should be noted that they only give you a rental for 7days after their initial settlement offer. No matter how bogus that offer is. By law you are allowed to negotiate their initial settlement, which of course I did. Their initial offer was given to me on a Saturday I wasn’t able to dispute it with anyone until they contacted me on a Tuesday and we weren’t able to come to an agreement until the next day being Wednesday. They sent over paperwork for the title which we received late ... read more

Been with this company for over 20 years. We have 18 policies ($7600 in premiums per year) with them. They have charged us $2400.00 a year for 13 years just for flood insurance on one of our rental homes, plus $1008.00 for regular home insurance on this same property. We finally paid off the mortgage so we could cancel the flood insurance. Which was a month before the renewal. Our mortgage company paid the flood and regular insurance from our escrow a month early. We were assured that we would get all of our money back since... read more

"Horrible" is too polite. We suffered hail damage in May, 2023. Our neighbors are having their roofs replaced with support of their insurance carriers. State Farm claims I have only $1,500 in damage (and their adjuster failed to see a hole in the roof caused by hail). Our contractor informs me that one State Farm adjuster has denied 57 our of 57 claims during the past year or two. State Farm is not the insurance company they were about 15 years ago when they agreed to cover $20,000 in damage to my home due to a faultly water... read more

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE! The worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Been trying to get our roof replaced for over a year and they are fighting us tooth and nail on everything. Their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. Save yourself time money and agony and go with any other insurance company. Would leave 0 stars if I could.

Quick to bill, but slow to pay. I have a simple claim but the adjuster filters her calls through voicemail and doesn't return messages left by my attorney. this is going on a year now. what good is having insurance if they don't respond. we have to sue the driver now. i feel bad for him. don't use state farm
