No prior warning on likely course conditions in Golf Now Listing Chardonnay golf course is great course, particularly challenging in windy conditions. Unfortunately, this day, they starting players from 1st and 10th tees and pace of play was "waiting on every shot". Also no warning on GolfNow about (a) event occurring later that afternoon maybe explaining the split start, & (b) some punched greens. I had to leave after 14th hold to keep partial round under 4 1/2 hours.

Business response:

Thank you for the 4-star review of Chardonnay Golf Club. Please come back and visit us soon.

Very poor green condition I play many times throughout last 20+ years here. We haven’t been here in the last 7 months or so. Four of us came to play here on January 6th, 2018 Saturday. OMG. Greens are in very poor condition. Very slow, putt would not break properly they have not been mowed nor pressed for two days or more Maybe due to the weather and rain we had the night before but it was sunny and warm that weekend. Very disappointed. Would not come back here at least for quite some time. Eagle Vines would be my other alte... read more

Overbooked, slow, rude pro shop staff. Young gentleman with the half sleeve tattoo in his right arm in the pro shop was super rude, completely swamped course with 3-4 groups on every hole after teeing off at 3pm. Play came to a complete standstill at hole 12. Ended up spending the rest of the afternoon fishing golf balls out of the vineyards. Pro shop closes at 5pm so forget about getting your money back. Eaglevines consistently does a better job of managing pace of play. Course conditions Are good but it's hard to enjoy the... read more

Frustrating afternoon, no supervision. Now I played all through high school on the team so I'm sympathetic to sharing the course with them now that I'm older. I think 3-4 hours for a 9 hole women's match is Ridiculous. Our coach would have never allowed that. No starter on the tee, golfers jumping ahead of the match and other players unsupervised, huge mess on the course and no marshall anywhere. Several golfers heading out on the back nine ahead of other golfers without any consideration from the club house about those maki... read more

Back 9 made this coarse Did not start out well as pro shop clerk was also the starter I guess. Said he would let me know when we were up. Never heard from him , found him in the clubhouse. Asked when we were up, he just said now and walked away. Coarse was in great condition. Greens were excellent. It was WINDY!! Took us 5 1/2 hrs. Wait on every hole. No Marshall . Called clubhouse no answer. 3rd call finally got an answer. Stated someone needed to speed up play. Never saw anyone. The back nine were great to play. The coarse... read more

A little slow I like this course. Have played many times (15+). The rain has helped a lot. The greens ate in excellent condition, and the fairways have recovered nicely since the drought. This Sunday's round was going well until the ranger disappeared. I was playing with another single. There were two four balls and a three ball ahead of us. By the 12th hole, the two four balls had put distance on the three ball (there was an open hole). By the 14th, there were two open holes. The ranger, who was omnipresent on the front nin... read more

Mixed Bag I played this course with my wife on December 31. My rating is 3 1/2 star. This is the second time I played here and again it was very slow. The course layout, condition, and challenge is top notch. It plays long and there are several tight fairways and risk/reward options throughout the golf course. The course winds through the vineyards and multiple elevation changes, which makes it pleasing to the eye and keeps you on your toes. There are unique birds on the grounds and some environmentally protected ares. Most ... read more

July 8th A "fivesome" played in front of us and had absolutely no course etiquette & did not follow course rules. They drove over course ropes, did not rake the traps at EVERY hole, they drove on the greens & held up play because of the number of players in their group. The course is very nice, but what they allow their members to do, makes for an unfriendly course.

Into the vines My only comment is that the course needs to make it clear to all golfers how to play golf shots into the adjacent vineyards. Not many golfers read the scorecards for such information. Maybe colored stakes or a reminder by the starter. Pro Shop attendant needs to get that chip off his shoulder. Not very friendly nor professional.
