July 8th A "fivesome" played in front of us and had absolutely no course etiquette & did not follow course rules. They drove over course ropes, did not rake the traps at EVERY hole, they drove on the greens & held up play because of the number of players in their group. The course is very nice, but what they allow their members to do, makes for an unfriendly course.
Into the vines My only comment is that the course needs to make it clear to all golfers how to play golf shots into the adjacent vineyards. Not many golfers read the scorecards for such information. Maybe colored stakes or a reminder by the starter. Pro Shop attendant needs to get that chip off his shoulder. Not very friendly nor professional.
Unbelievably slow Very windy the day I played. Was paired with 3 other people. Ahead of us was 4 foursomes of "friends" who play various courses. Took 3 hours to play the front side. Did not see one marshall come through. At the turn, I doubled back and re-played the front side in 1 hour 15 minutes. Course is OK. A few of the holes looked like the architect could not figure out how to fit a hole in and the result was pretty bad. Would like to play the backside to see if it is better.
Frost delay Good course for the price. Frost delay for about an hour and a half which seemed a bit long considering we could see groups playing Eagle Vines at least 45min earlier.
Monday afternoon round Started at 11:30. Finished at 4:50. Course information stated that a round would take all day. Course was wet so there was no roll except on the greens....with a tap the ball just rolled and rolled and rolled. Beautiful setting and the holes were well laid out. Paula, who was on the beverage cart, was very pleasant and came around frequently to refill my coffee cup.
Back nine Cart paths are lousy, all broken up and needs repairs.
Slowest round of golf ever took us 4hrs and 15min to play 13 hole. Marshall was doing nothing to increase the pace of play.
Horrible service The range was closed although they sold me the token for balls! The pro shop was closed at 5:30 as we finished so could not even get refund. Very windy.
Slowest Round I ever played Had a tee time at around 1pm on a Saturday. We were only able to play 16 holes in 5.5 hours before it got dark. The course did nothing to speed things up...what a joke!
