Course needs water Yah, N. CA is in a drought. But if you can't keep the course playable, you should not open it to public play.

Interesting holes but course needed more care. Greens were quite variable in speed. Greenside turf was bare hardpan on many holes so that slightly wayward shots took extremely penal bounces. Rough varied considerably in depth. Fairway turf was dried and/or beaten up in several patches. Green spray treatment (not water) started before we finished our round. Two of the par 3's were the toughest our group had ever seen.

Not what I expected. I'd always heard about this course, and had high expectations of it, which were no where near met. For 70 dollars, I thought the club house was shabby and over stuffed with merchandise. The driving range was stuck behind the cart shed, while the "Members" range was just off the restaurant. The course was pretty beat up, lots of brown patches and even more area's with no grass at all. I would rather go to other Courses in the area that are more expensive or cheaper. Staff was neither over friendly or rude... read more

Look elsewhere Fairways are in terrible condition and have shown no improvement over past 2 years. Huge greens require that you acquaint yourself with pin position of the day or have a range finder--otherwise expect a lot of very long putts. Expect wind in the afternoon. Overall there are many better maintained courses for the same cost in the immediate area.

Nice view of grapes, course needs work The greens has been "micro punched", but worse they were super slow (7-8 stimp). Bunkers well groomed. Fairways were slow and spotty (some burnt areas, some wet and muddy). The course lay out is a strength, keeps your attention. I'd come back and play ONLY if the course conditioning improves.

Stay away! The course is in bad shape. The fairways are in need of the most help. There were actually muddy tire marks on a couple of holes. I am from out of town and was primarily relying on online reviews like Yelp to decide whether or not to play this course. Most of them were very good reviews of this course, but I can't see how these are genuine reviews after having played this course myself. I won't be coming back here.

Disappointing Chardonnay used to be a very nice course. General upkeep was bad. Greens were decent. They only have 18 holes now. They used to have three 9-hole courses. I should have taken my guys to Eagle Vines next door.

Quick round, but could have been faster. I purposely booked an early tee time to ensure a quick round. I teed off at 6:30 as a single....moving along at a wonderful pace. Actually had to wait for the greenskeeper to reset cups on three holes (I guess that's the price you pay for being out so early). Everything is going great until I make the turn....a foursome (2 guys, 2 ladies) teeing off on ten!!! The single in front of me tells me they are only playing nine so the starter sent them off on ten. Finally, after following the... read more

slow - poorly maintained - dissapointing First time at Chardonnay - excited to play - hoped it compared favorably to Eagle Vines - it dd not - extremely slow - poor conditions overall - not an interesting layout - goofy greens complexes - not worth what they ask - it is a perfect example of the deterioration of public golf courses - not walkable - we won't be back - I am not sure why anyone would pay their inflated prices when you have better options - I doubt this will be a golf course in a few years.
