pace of play 5 1/2 hour rounds are not my cup of tea. Three of the people in the group I was playing with quit after 6 holes and said they were going next door to Eagle Vines and try to get on their and play. This course in bad need of a Marshall! I saw the Cart Girl at least twice during 6 holes, but no Marshall. That's why the lower rating & would not recommend.
Abandoned course in wine country It’s as though the course has been abandoned. I’ve played it several times and have never seen it look so awful. The course is in really bad shape. Greens are OK but everything else is sad. On top of that there was no beverage cart and the call box phone on 9 definitely hasn’t worked in a decade.
Very similar to it's neighbor, Eagle Vines If you like 5 hour rounds, poorly maintained tee boxes, bunkers without any sand and burnt out fairways, you'll love Chardonnay. We were constantly bumping our balls in the fairway to find some grass and there's no adequate sand in any of the bunkers! Tee boxes were pretty rough as well. The only difference between Chardonnay and Eagle Vines is that at least Chardonnay had beverage service on the course. Very little service at the pro shop or post round. We didn't try the restaurant.
Unfriendly staff, delayed tee time and extremely slow play I was looking at some souvenirs in the tee shop then went to check in; the employee at the counter points to the souvenir markers and asks me "how many did you grab" so he could charge me. I didn't grab any. I felt like he was accusing me of shoplifting since I obviously didn't put any souvenirs on the counter to pay for. He said our tee time would be delayed a little and he would fit us in. Seems like if we have a tee time, it's ok to be delayed but he shouldn't hav... read more
6 hour round! We tee’d off at 10:00. Finished at 4:00. Marshall tried, but group in front of us kept falling a par five or more behind. So frustrating as they could care less that everyone was backed up behind them. I know it’s the weekend, but 6 hours? I won’t be back.
Pace of play We started at 2:33 pm. After the 3rd hole the pace of play was terrible. There were people walking the course who were in their 70s. SLOW. Also, people playing that had no idea they were holding up players behind them. I blame this on the fact that we never saw a Marshall on the course. And too many people were allowed on the course at the same time, especially in the afternoon when the price of a tee time was the lowest. I blame the management completely for this. Simply unacceptable. This could be a great golf... read more
Sanded greens Wasn’t told the back nine was closed until we got there then the back up on one through nine was incredible don’t play here again
Slowest round of golf in the Bay Chardonnay Golf Club is usually a great place to enjoy a round of golf. During a Saturday round we were not only late to start our tee time but were unable to finish 18 holes. It took 3 hours to play 9 holes and with no staff on-site after 5pm to call in slow play or carts that have died. A truly disappointing round of golf at a course that had been fun to play in the past.
