I love the community and students, and teachers, and the relationships built in those groups, One thing I'd like so see, is some change in the food variety. But over all my experience as a students here has been beyond exciting with many learning opportunities, clubs, and just over all fun you can get involved in. I love the academy and hope more students will join in our adventures together.
The Academy of Charter Schools is such an amazing school! Not only are the teachers amazing and always there to help us, but the school has so many accomplishments that make us proud to be here. Our music program is awesome—we even go to competitions at Elitch Gardens, and recently, we got invited to perform in Hawaii! The school has a solid academic standard that is above many others in the area. However, the school spirit is often lacking. To become involved, one often has to make a greater effort.
All staff are approachable and there is a fantastic amount of communication received in weekly newsletters. We have a great network of involved parents and a PTO that supports kids and families with multiple community events.
The administration is very well organized and plan the year incredibly well. Leadership is outstanding. We have really enjoyed K-2 thusfar!
We have been with the Academy for 3 years (K-2) and have had a great experience. I'm thankful for the Enrichment Program that is offered for Math and Reading to challenge those that are exceeding their grade level in these areas. Our family also loves the variety of "Specials" that are offered and the amount of exposure that the students get to other subjects other than what's just in the classroom. I would like to see the rules enforced heavily so that students would not be as disrespectful. I would also like to see the staff stay longer and can afford to live off of their paycheck.
I have been so impressed with The Academy. My son has only finished Kindergarten there but so far the curriculum is fantastic, the campus is very safe and secure and the culture of the school is wonderful. My son has received significant support from his teacher and administrators as needed and they have been very communicative, kind, and supportive.
My son is learning in an incredible and loving environment. He has been challenged and supported right to his level. The Academy is a wonderful community and we feel so fortunate to be a part of it! I am extremely pleased with the level of communication we had this year from teachers and administration.
