Wonderful teaching staff (middle school) but admin/management are just awful. Cringeworthy HoS speeches, asinine rules, blind eyes turned to drugs and drinking on school property. We grit our teeth and keep our daughters there for the teaching side.
this school treated many students well, but when it comes to actually defending and helping minority students such as poc, lgbtq+, and other marginalized groups it fails completely. field is constantly full of bigotry from the white and cishet students, with hurtful slurs sometimes being said and nothing being done, in one instance the said racist student was only expelled after police were involved. and while the teachers are over all kind and good, the school itslef cares purely about its reputation, even going as far to o... read more
My two years at Field had their ups and downs. Looking back at the time I spent there (both sixth and seventh grade) while I see many friendships made, lots of learning experiences, as well as many fun memories, I also see struggles we had with the school about how they were teaching and how they were handling certain situations. I went field school and everyone of made fun of me for my good grades. They are all preppy white privileged kids and there isnt a lgbtq club/community or library.
The school requires students be involved on the sports teams, and as a result, the teams are not competitive. General school spirit is low, and it is abundantly clear that athletics are not a major priority. There are not many types of sports available, nor are there adequate facilities or space for the sports we do have.
