I’ve been going to the Academy of Charter Schools for over 10 years, and I’ve made many memories there. The teachers there are really engaging with the students and have good relationships with them that allows for deeper understanding while learning. However, some of the newer admin lately have been making changes to how the school runs including using ai to build schedules for students which has caused a lot of controversy and confusion for students and staff. Over my 4 years at the Academy of Charter Schools I feel more ready for college than before. I was dual enrolled at front range community college for my junior and senior.
My experience at the Academy of Charter Schools is exactly what it needed to be, but I often wonder what life would be like if I switched schools for high school. Due to the fact that our class sizes are smaller (about 130 kids per grade), access to counseling resources is more accessible. Additionally, extracurriculars are slightly less competitive, making it easier to gain leadership experience. On the other hand, I don't think our academics are very rigorous. This school is the best thing that has ever happened to my family. My son’s teachers are truly angels. Mrs.Osborne has such a sweet, caring and loving approach to every student. Mrs.Baca has a gift with her special needs students that I will cherish always. I don’t care if your child is neurotypical, gifted or on the spectrum they will be welcomed here with open arms, love and support that is truly unmatched!
As a current senior who has attended this school since kindergarten, I’ve grown within this community and dedicated myself to giving back. The school is wonderful! Great staff that truly cares about the students. Anytime my son has struggled, they have given him one on one help. I would recommend this school to anyone I know.
Our daughter is excelling here. She has had some challenges with friendships, but otherwise it is a great school!
This school is really struggling. The teachers that are hired are very questionable, however there are a few teachers that actually care. The sports department lacks almost everything including communication, dedication, and care for student athletes. Most people who attended the school prior to 8th grade end up leaving because of better sports, academics, and student life somewhere else.
so some of the teachers mean you just need to get 1 good ones. Some like miss Hansing are just mean.
