As a former student, please listen to me. If you want your students to succeed in the future, do not let them go to The Academy. If you cannot use the skills that were never properly taught to pass a placement exam with exceptional skill, you will get laughed at and told you're not good enough to be in your major. Class ranking, GPA, and extracurriculars do not matter if you cannot score 1260 on the SAT (or equivalent on the ACT). Replacing a department of teachers every academic year is absurd. It is a good small school environment and teachers are overall very supportive and good. Administration is running the school like a business and is pretty bad.
The teacher's don't care about their students. They do nothing in class and the students have to do all the work themselves. They don't care about bullying, suicide, student's safety etc. as long as they make themselves look good.
There should be a library instead of just a summit where it is always loud and you can not actually get any work done. Other than most of the teachers are usually helpful and will make time for any student.
Unless you're an athlete, forget it. Yearbook and student council are actual CLASSES, not EC's. So you may not even get an opportunity to participate unless your schedule works out.

My girls have attended The Academy since kindergarten. They have gotten a Fantastic education. I'm just rather unhappy with lack of discipline with students in classrooms and the traffic is horrible and sometimes parents are in to big a hurry and gets little dangerousness. My daughter has almost been hit in her car multiple times.
I've had children in both the elementary and secondary wings. The elementary wing is overcrowded, and administration panders to the select few who live in neighboring Bradburn (and seem to have unlimited cash resources to throw around.) My child was bullied constantly, and administration did nothing to help the situation other than insinuate that my child was a problem child and encourage us to move him elsewhere.
