not safe for dogs This complex has a significant number of aggressive dogs living on the property. My incredibly friendly dog has been attacked 6 times when owners lose control or dogs get off their leashes. It is virtually impossible to go for a walk without my dog getting lunged at. Many of these dogs are large dogs too and capable of doing significant damage. Furthermore, management does not even care. ZERO STARS IF I COULD I had a terrible experience with Carlton of Fort Myers, both while living there and after moving out. Recently, several wedding gifts were mistakenly delivered to our old address. We haven't been moved out for long so typically I'm sure this happens that something may get delivered to and old address. Just Dont! Some places may charge more and for good reason. you will get what you pay for. They are not taking care of the property. Grass is dead. Dog park... Yea, also a joke. We just moved in Feb 2024 and the ENTIRE office staff has already changed. The new management does not answer the phone or respond to maintenance requests, they just close them out and do/say nothing. AVOID!!! The front desk has horrible communication, and they are horrific at record keeping. This place will waste your time, and they aren't afraid to jack up the rental rate by a ton. Save yourself the frustration and avoid them.

Just to get you in Thought people ought to know something I just found out after speaking to the office staff this weekend. We stopped in to check this place out this past weekend and we were informed of the advertised move in credits (currently, $3000) we would have received at the time of lease signing ARE NOT offered on lease renewals. I was told that I could use the credit as a one lump sum reduction for a single month or spread it out through the term of the lease to reduce our total each month. Not being taken care of Also, as a 3rd year resident here and a renter by choice, we agree wholeheartedly with the two other reviews stating pretty much what we would say. This place does not appear to reflect the Mahaffey Apartment Company’s management style. The rate increases, deteriorating conditions of amenities and landscaping along with just a different vibe here have sadly made this our final year here. Serious Lack in Upkeep First off, they increase the rent by $200 every year & seemingly don’t focus on any upkeep of the property. When they first opened, there was a consistent landscaping/groundskeeping company that was making it look pretty until all the units got filled. After that, it's like they stopped trying. The Grill rarely ever works and temperature gauges have been broken for over a year, and whether the pool will be heated each week is a shot in the dark as well. Shop around! The rent increases of OVER 200 dollars a year are ridiculous! We can see all the empty apartments and lately, there seems to be more move outs than move ins. Quite frankly, we find it to be karma because this is the greediest, most nickel and dime low budge place we have ever lived. The market is changing and this is the only place that didn’t get the memo. Carpet is garbage, so thin and not soft. Zero stars This is a terrible place to live. First, let's start with the spiders everywhere, all the time. They come and powerwash, which creates a puddle in your entryway, but the spiders come right back. Next, the cess pool in the middle of the property smells and unless there's an actual hurricane, they never turn off the squirting machine in the middle.
