My experience with stem is complicated. STEM, while a good school for academics, it isn't meant for people who are creatives, it was suffocating
Preparing students for college is the main goal of this school in which they excel in. Most students graduate with their Associates before they graduate highschool. Very well set up school and the safety is very good.
Fantastic School! If you want your kids to be driven and pushed, this is the place to send you kids. If you want your kids to only do the bare minimum and be lazy, don't sent your kids here. This is a REAL school. Best school in Idaho!
North Idaho STEM Charter Academy is a good school to attend, especially if you are very ambitious, and a hard worker. A lot of students will not make it here, because the workload can be pretty rigorous, but in the end, the students who make it through their senior year typically end up attending top notch schools, with thousands of dollars worth of scholarship money, and hundreds of hours of hands-on experience.
Since my arrival at STEM, I have experienced the good and bad at that school. The academics really sets you up for the outside world most of the time. Other times, the classes can be quite meaningless. The clubs could be more in number. However, I am in Book Club so that is a major plus. The staff is adequate for a school environment and that is to be expected. Overall, STEM is a normal well to do K-12 school with lots of opportunities to achieve.
Pretty much a school made to prepare students for college. This it does well. If your interested in sports though, this is not the school for you. Otherwise a great school, never got jumped.
I have been attending North Idaho Stem Charter Academy since it was first opened in 2012. I have watched the school grow and mature throughout its existence, and I have been around for all of the major investments and upgrades throughout our history. This school has prepared me for college more then I or my parents thought was possible, and most graduates including myself expect to have their associates degree when the graduate high school. Sometimes the rules can be unfair, especially when collective punishment is the go to... read more
The teachers are excellent, the education is worth it, and the benefits pave your future. The curriculum is challenging to help weed out the weak and uninspired students. The choir director is my favorite and has given me opportunities I never would have gotten.
I'm a recent alumni who went to North Idaho STEM Charter Academy since 4th grade, and I can honestly say I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else. The school takes itself seriously when it comes to academics, employing a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for the real world and higher level classes, as well as gives them the knowledge they need to succeed in college or the workforce. The teachers know their stuff - many of the high school teachers are certified to teach college credit, and they want to see you succ... read more
