I graduated from high school with an associates degree. This has significantly benefited my college timeline and allowed me to gain access to new opportunities and jobs.
I have been at North Idaho STEM Charter Academy for almost 9 years and I can say I do thoroughly enjoy this school. Yes, there are some challenges when comes to academics and the level of readiness for learning, but it has made me more prepared for my secondary education for my degree. I love my teachers and my fellow students. Now, if there was anything I would change, it would be the amount of time we have for lunch. Overall, in my time at STEM I have found that the school's value is in bringing students with similar fields of interest in study together and select wonderful teachers. The student culture is very unique, while not everyone may get along, the small class sizes encourage students to engage in respectful discussion with peers of different viewpoints, and this is a valuable experience for many, especially in this day and age. Over all Stem Charter Academy is a pretty interesting school that has a lot of possibilities for your personal education; however it does lack some programs/things that I think would make it a more well rounded, and competitive school. The two major things I would change are first, the support and size of the musical program here at Stem, second more options and flexibility for personal interests, especially considering that many who go here also do sports and other extracurricular activities.
North Idaho STEM Charter Academy is by no means a school for everyone, you have to be determined and prepared if you chose to attend this school. Like with any school there are problems or issues that I personally don't like. I do think, however, the positives of this school out way the weird qualities and negatives. I've been here since fourth grade and I have a love/hate relationship with the school. The atmosphere is great and promotes a growth mindset in learning, but the administration enforces needlessly strict rules that ultimately retract from the learning experience. It's also a small school, so it lacks many club activities and classes.
Since I have come to STEM Charter Academy, I have learned a lot when it has come to both academics and life. I admire the teachers and their love for what they teach, but unfortunately I can not say the same for the administration. I hope that after I leave, they become more caring and empathetic for the students who attend their school.
I have been attending North Idaho STEM Charter Academy since 2012. I was a kindergartener when it first opened, and now, I am a senior. I think this school is a great school for those who looking into a career in engineering, sciences, math, or technology, but other than that, it might not be the right fit.
North Idaho STEM Charter Academy is the top K-12 school in the state of Idaho, and when it comes to academics, I completely agree. This year was the first year that I have gone to a public school, and so far I have learned so much more than I think I ever could at another school.
