A bit wet Course would be amazing if it was not so wet, cart paths need some work, damaged from the recent earth quake. Did not see the cart girl until 10:30 but she was very friendly. A member joined me and he was friendly as well. Got an early start so lots of activity with all the greens keepers working on the course some were good and stopped while you putted and others just kept on mowing , a bit loud and annoying. Overall nice day!
Wine country golf Solid golf course routed through the vineyards. My biggest complaints were slow play(no Marshall to move play along) and the course was very wet. Teed off at 9:30 am. The fairway and greens were soft in many locations.
wine country golf challenge Chardonnay has transitioned from 2 18 hole tracks to a single 18 hole course and works hard to earn golfers dollars. the GPS system on the carts does not work. Our cart was fine but the GPS never worked. The actual course offers varying challenges and many of the 5 par threes require forced carries. The pars fives offer accuracy challenges and many sand bunkers protect greens. The vineyards provide the greatest contest as they can easily eat stray shots. Tree lined creeks also line many holes maki... read more
Golfing in the vineyards A beautiful challenging course. The greens rolled fast and true. The wind was blowing about 30 to 35 miles per hour and the low overcast finally cleared late afternoon allowing for much warmer conditions. Golfers familiar with the course said the wind could even blow harder when the sun was out and conditions drier. Almost hard to believe. The one negative that was a bit unnerving was the constant compressed air guns detonating randomly in the vineyards to scare away rodents, birds and probably an oc... read more
Course is long and demands long drives Good challenging course where you need fairway woods for most of your second shots
Highly recommeded It's been years since I last played Chardonnay and was pleasantly surprised with course conditions and the layout. Played on a Friday afternoon and had the course to ourselves. Enjoyed the course and the experience.
Outstanding value, lots of fun I played here as a single in the late afternoon. It was a gorgeous day, and I had no idea from the pictures on the club's site how beautiful and fun this course would be to play. Lots of memorable holes. Lots of challenge but also really cool looks, especially from the tips. Course was also in really good shape.
Wine Country Golf Very pleasant day playing Chardonnay. About an hour and a half drive from the South Bay. if your coming from the South Bay, play early, the traffic on the Benicia Bridge can be horrible.. The course has 5 sets of tee boxes, we played the one that was 6400 yards. Probably could have moved back one set as we both shot under 80. The only complaint I have about the course was the tee boxes should have been mowed down a bit. My 2-1/ inch tees were not nearly long enough. The layout is nice. No houses our roads n... read more
OK, but high priced at regular rates for this quality This is a slightly above average course, nice variations in altitude, and interesting and sometimes tough greens. I paid $31.50 on Golf Now for an afternoon rate. That's a pretty high price for a slightly above average course. I thought it would be interesting to play in Napa, but 18 holes of grape vines is way too much. Apparently it's the best course in the area, so I wouldn't discount it, but a better price would make it more desirable.
