The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the outside deck with views of Lake Ontatrio. Lake Ontario is a Great Lake, Castaways, not so great. The menu offers mundane choices that lack flavor and imagination. The menu needs to be overhauled as does the restaurant's interior. Without the deck and it's lake views the restaurant is gruesome. OK food, terrible service, lovely view Six of us had lunch on a glorious afternoon with a beautiful view. That's the extent of the positives. Don't waste your money I could go on and on but the bottom line is, save your money. There is no value when the prices are high and the food is plain bad. Diner food at one third the price is a much better bet.
Best resturant on the lake YP.com Castaways has been around for 20 years now and I can see why! Their steak and seafood is extremely delicious, they have a lengthy list of wines and other drinks to choose from, the wait staff is so friendly and fast, and the location is beautiful! Very busy so you'll want to get there earlier if you don't want to wait, but it is a very romantic setting. I love to sit next to the railing right...
Owner Is A Jk I took my mother out for dinner and we started out with steamed clams and calimari and both ordered an entree, In addition, we ordered an entree to go for my father (Filet Mignon $23) that was bed ridden and un-able to join us.
