I think the security cameras need to be better. I have had friends who's kids have had car issues or locker issues and the administrators have said either no cameras in that area or they weren't working. Either they don't care to look into the issue or they need to get them fixed!
For the most part the teachers prepare our kids for college. My kids have had great success in college I credit the teachers, but there are many great schools. If you are looking for music and theatre Padua is a great school to look into too. If sports are your childs thing I'd look elsewhere.
the kids that join certain clubs really get involved its great
My rating would be higher if it wasn't for my years of teams disappointment and seeing them getting progressively worse. I think they need to go outside the Padua family
My overall experience at this school has been alright. Not great, not bad, just alright. I have fared well academically at this school because I have a strong work ethic at school, but, I don't really fit in socially. In my grade, there are too many cliques, per say. There are too many people who run the grade and think they are the hot-shots. They are detriments to the morale of the grade, and don't really help my senior class gel together. I don't really get involved socially with my class, but I try to get involved in the... read more
The school administration is somewhat strict on policies. Dress-code violations are the most common offenses because students still do not seem to be able to read the handbook about dress code violations. Other violations include obscene words, gestures, cheating, and some physical abuse, but not much. Overall, dress-code and tardiness are the two most common offenses.
The food is actually tasty. They stick to a strict schedule, but there are alternatives every day. For example, pizza is always on Wednesday, but there are other options, like wraps or fries. There is also an extra cafe, where healthy options reside. The food tastes great. I have never had a problem with the food.
The admission process is very simple. The academic requirements are not that stringent. From my experience, a B or C+ average seems like it would suffice. The course selection is very specific and easy to navigate. Overall, it is not that hard to get into this school.
There are many extracurricular activities to get involved in at the school. There are clubs for each subject, intramural sports, drama clubs, and other clubs. People also create clubs, which is a nice feature. The administration is very dedicated to support the clubs and there are certain staff members who are especially supportive. Overall, the extracurriculars are very well-maintained.
