Sales and process of the build was great. Unfortunately we had issue before the 1 year **** and took them almost a year to finally fix it, so we thought. We bought in January 2020 with a lot of upgrades including our master shower and we have had nothing but problems with the tile work. We have had no communication from this customer notifying us that they had an outstanding issue. Our customer care representative contacted the customer by phone and email and did not receive a response, so they visited their home with our tile trade partner. We met with ************** and ********************** to review their concern. Sales rep is great, the rest of the experience is horrible. ****************** is lacking in resolving issues quickly, it would save them more money to have their construction managers actually check quality of the whole building process. Outstanding issues even after 1 year, dismissal of issues to not fix them. Save the money and actually build with someone who doesn't take on too much work and obviously can't be quality controlled. Typical insta builder shortcuts to sell fast and be done.
In **** I bought a new home through main street homes. They changed me from a black male to a white male on my application to push me through the home buying process. Black people please pay full attention even at closing.
I closed with Main Street Homes on October 27th of 2022 and according to their contract and customer service, I have a year warranty on the house where things that need addressing should be fixed within the first 12 months. 90 percent of the issues in our one year checkup list has not been completed due to a lack of communication and numerous no call/no shows. Our phone calls have been ignored, we've scheduled time off from work for repair appointments and they never showed up or called. We are very disappointed with this builder that we once had very high regards for, to say the least. I'm embarrassed to show off what was suppose to be our retirement dream home.
My family and I are currently building our first home now and while the contractor **** and ***** the designer have been completely professional and forth coming , the rest of Main Street homes have been a disappointment . Main Street Homes owns a property at ***** *** ********* ********** **. I have reached out to them several times to clean up the property. The property is in a residential neighborhood. The house is a magnet for homeless people. Not to long ago they lost a 2 year battle with the neighborhood. We put up a good fight and put a stop to a plan to put 90 homes in a wooded property behind the said property. Yes ...The little guy won! Main Street Homes must still be licking their wounds.
My wife and I bought a Main Street home that was 4 years old in Powhatan Va. Upon seeing the house, everything looked great. When people look at a home they imagine all of the possibilities, and seem to overlook any minor cosmetic. After being in the home for a year we started noticing issues with walls being crooked, bows in the walls, soft floors, window seals cracking...ect. It so hard to get them back out to do repairs. I will never purchase another home from Main Street Homes. If I could give them a rating below a 1 star it would be in the minus.
