Our school has decent amount of peer pressure. I have never experienced any but have known some good students who wasted their lives. There are no problems regarding to ethnicity or sexual orientation. Of course, there are some fights once in a while regarding those but not very much. Most students advertise their interests and pick friends with the same interests. After, they tend not to go near groups who may bully them.
Teachers are the gems of Telesis. They all have different teaching styles, but this allows all types of learners to succeed. There are also some teachers who cannot control their students occasionally, but our school safety officer takes care of the problems.
The food at our school is average. There are not many options for vegetarians and many students dislike the meat options. However, my school has free lunch services, so many students do not bring their own lunch. Of course, cafeteria food is never spectacular.
Our school athletic program is strong overall. However, drama with athletes caused us to lose many games. For example, this year Volleyball team seemed very strong; I definetely thought we would win state. Our coach decided to switch the positions of our setter to middle hitter, and middle hitter to setter. The new setter was very disaoppointed, so she would not pay attention DURING the game. This is the only problem. Our football team and baseball teams did not win state because of injuries. Overall, we have a strong athlet... read more

Students do not have to worry about safety here at Telesis. We have the best lock down drill in the city, according to our local police department. Our school safety officer made sure to build new fences and update our drills after the Sandy Hook shooting. Our school nurse is very helpful, as she has everything a student might need during emergencies. We have no bullies or cliques at our school; we are all friends, we all are one; we are all Telesis Tigers.
The principal of Telesis is the best out of the best. She remembers all the students names and she frequently recognizes them for their hardwork. For example, in eighth grade, I helped a teacher during an emergency. She called my parents and thanked them for raising a matured student. She works hard to make this school great; in fact, because of her diligence, she won the Woman of the Year Award this year. The teachers here are even more wonderful; they incorporate character and discipline into our education which makes it e... read more
We have a lot of resources to help us on the way to success. We have one guidance counselor and a senior advisor, who work very hard to show students the way through high school. We have AIMS tutoring, for kidswho did pass the state exams, where teachers stay after school, during weekends, and on breaks (Spring Break, Thanksgiving break, etc.). Also, parents are contacted the minute a student decides to goof off or not do their homework. Our campus is expanding to provide more options for students to excel in.
There's not a lot of negative influence at school.
