I had a cervical laminectomy with a titanium implant in 2003 and a lumbar laminectomy with cage and screw implants in 2015. In both instances I went in with pain and came out almost immediately pain free. Dr. Lawrence is straightforward, and his bedside manner can be most unusual. But to have a doctor who is as competent as he is in this day and age! I love Dr. Lawrence!

I was very impressed Dr. Holdship and he took time with me to explain what I needed and made me feel very comfortable. The procedure went well and Chelsea, his assistant, also was fantastic in calming my nerves. I will not be nervous at all now with future appt's. I am in good hands with Dr. Holdship and his staff - he also called himself in the evening to see how I was doing as a wellness...

After 3 wasted years and 2 expensive unnecessary test with other "dr" I saw Dr. Lawrence. He showed exactly what was causing my pain on MRI and explained what he would do. Surgery scheduled 2 weeks later. Removed stenosis and found large herniated disc to be removed. Overnight in hospital. Been 4 1/2 months and pain is gone. Highly recommend. He doesn't mince words but is a GREAT surgeon. Also...

DR Lawrence is a wonderful surgeon. Yes he's is a little arrogant and rough around the edges. But as far as his skills as a surgeon he is top notch,has done two of my back surgeries and did a fantastic job both times.

I had L5S1 laminectomy/microdiscectomy surgery on April 14th 2017. Prior to having the surgery I was dealing with chronic back/leg pain for almost 16 years. I woke up from surgery and all of my chronic symptoms were virtually gone. I only had minor surgical pain and didn't require pain medication. Dr. Lawrence can be very blunt but he is a highly skilled neurosurgeon and I can't thank him...

Dr. Canos is very knowledgeable and takes the time to review everything a patient needs to know before and after surgery. He's honest and upfront and not one to guarantee success beforehand on a tricky procedure. He'll do everything in his power to ensure his patients are at ease and is very accommodating with follow-ups, especially if something post-op is lingering or not healing 100 percent.

If you are concerned about finding the perfect doctor who will explain the details, understand your unique situation, offer assurance, work with precision and confidence...look no further. I am so glad for the work that he did. I appreciate the team at harbor light. Not just any doctor would be so friendly, calm and kind enough to leave a voicemail checking on the patient.

I just recommended Dr. Lawrence to an acquaintance who is suffering from back pain. He did my surgery last August and I felt very honored to have him as my neurosurgeon!! He was very straightforward as to my condition and what needed to be done. After suffering for 6 months I am now back to playing tennis and feeling much better. At 73 it has been a blessing. Not everyone would agree with...
