Wine Country Gem Chardonnay was in wonderful shape when we played it. Really like the layout as it winds thru a lot of vineyards and it is especially challenging with its large undulating greens. Since it is in the wine country near Napa, wine tasting after your round is always an option.

Always enjoyable the course was in excellent shape and the greens were rolling true. the starter was very friendly and let me out early so that the round was at a good pace Don't recommend walking since the redesign which removed 9 of the 27 holes. Long walks between a number of holes.

Beautiful Course but the staff is lacking We played on a buddies trip, and had rounds at Silverado Napa and Spanish Bay as well. This course is picturesque and challenging. We enjoyed the course. Where this course lacks is in its staff. The grounds keepers were oblivious to the fact that we were playing a round of golf or lacked proper training to let the golfers enjoy their round and play through. They were literally in our way on several holes and didn't seem to care that we were there playing golf they just kept on workin... read more

Great time As always, Chardonnay offered up a great time on a fun course. Hard to complain about anything except the wind and the carts. Can I blame the for the wind? Probably not. The carts, however, could use some updating.

Excellent conditions, minus the tee boxes Chardonnay is in really stellar condition. We played double magnums that day. The greens are in excellent shape and the fairways look great. Bring your A+ game, as off target shots often find water hazards and vineyards. The one area of frustration I have with this course are its tee boxes. I understand that there may need to be a subtle slope to allow for easier drainage. However, these are some of the most uneven tee boxes I have played on. It impacts your ability to hit solid tee ... read more

Great Day Wonderful Day. Course in very good condition. Greens smooth and the ball rolled well. The course is challenging but fair. You need to play golf and not rush it around.

A Course that is as challenging as it is attractive This is not a course that I would want to play regularly but it certainly is one that I would highly recommend for occasional play . The course is very attractive . The greens can be daunting -typically large with undulation and subtle breaks near the cups. I found getting to the greens interesting but fair. Many holes are bordered by healthy vineyards and if you are lucky, the agro-workers might gift you with a dozen or more balls that they came across while tending to the... read more

Wait `til You See these Greens I had a buddy come in to visit me from Canada and he wanted to play golf and visit some wineries one day. So we booked into Chardonnay and had a great experience. It helped that I played well and almost aced the par 3 8th, but, although I hadn`t played here in many years, I was reminded that CGC has some of the largest green complexes around. Many greens are 40-60 yards deep and oddly shaped where you need to hit to the right part of the green. We even had 2 flop shots from the green surface in... read more

greens are still recovering The greens are still slow after being punched a couple of weeks ago. the tee boxes are good unless you play from the white where the turf is worn. The practice facilities are real good. Range balls are good and offer real turf. The practice green is very good. As always playing in the center of a chardonnay vineyard is one of the best golf experiences in the bay area. TIP: Play when it is windy. No one plays out there in the wind. The 18th hole should really be a par 4 and not a 5.
