Chardonnay 2/1/2023 The pace of play was very slow, but the course was in very good shape.
Sand traps Sand traps need some work, but after the storms I guess they are what they are. All in all course was in good shape. Would definitely recommend.
Top North Bay Course Chardonnay Golf Club is in the heart of wine country and it certainly adds to the overall experience. On a sunny day, Chardonnay is tough to beat given its handful of stunning views. The greens can be challenging, considering how narrow some of them are, but the overall pace of the greens was perfect, not too slow, not too fast. Greens were good. Tee boxes were a little rough. Still a little sloppy after the all the rain.
It held together pretty well given all the water over the past month No surprise that Chardonnay (or any other course in the Bay Area right now) was a wet and sloppy mess. That said, the tea boxes and greens were in terrific condition, as were most of the fairways.. once you got into the rough all bets are off and we had to pick clean and place a number of times throughout the day. But there were no crowds to speak of, and was really glad that they were open despite the terrible conditions lately. I’ll be back!
