To find two great local restaurants in one day is very rare. It happened today Yellow Brix is wonderful. Beautiful patio with trees. spacious tables inside. A great mix of flavors all cooked to perfection. I had the Carne Asada generous portions. Splurged on the loaded mash potatoes. My wife loved their Chicken Parmesan. Side salads not made with iceberg lettuce.
We celebrated our anniversary dinner here & got great service from Roberto. There was a small wait to be seated. The young men in charge of seating got confronted by another server about seating arrangements and servers. She was being rude to them for not following an order to the seating instead of helping. Yellow Brix is a magical little restaurant in the heart of Carlsbad. We have never had any food we did not like. Their salads and crepes are top notch. That outdoor seating area is beautiful and zen. Even though it is close the traffic on 285 you can carry on a conversation at normal decibels and be able to hear who you are talking with. But the best part is their staff. Great place! I always stop by when I pass through. The food is usually a 9/10 and If you dont want to wait go during breakfast or lunch times. The waiters/waitresses are always super nice compared to other restaurants I've been to. I recommend the drinks, crepes, & the chicken tortilla soup for sure. The desserts are great as well. I love that they actually use fresh fruits and dont used canned or throw on whatever they grab which I have experienced from many other restaurants in my travels.
We were traveling from Carlsbad Cavern and sort the night in Carlsbad. Our hotel recommended Yellow Brix and we are super happy they did. It was excellent. The food was delicious and our server, Phillip, was absolutely wonderful. He tended to our every need. He recommended the Brussels sprouts with steak tips on top and it was amazing. I would absolutely come back and recommend to everyone.
