Among the limited selection of quality dining options in Carlsbad, this restaurant stands out. We were warmly welcomed by the charming Christmas decorations at the entrance. Our party of seven was seated swiftly, and the food followed shortly after. The steak was truly outstanding, elevated by the unexpected yet delightful gravy. The meatloaf and shrimp were also noteworthy.
We love this restaurant! Whenever we visit Carlsbad it is not unusual that we eat here for more than one meal. The portions are not only filling, they are delicious. They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner and every item on the menu is great. We prefer to sit out in the patio when we dine here and love the relaxing outdoor atmosphere. Pasta was great. Lots of flavor. We sat inside, and it was difficult to hear each other for conversation, we would have sat outside, but the wind was too much. The hostess and wait staff was excellent. We arrived right at 5 pm and had no wait. The bar area is small, but the fireplace is cute and inviting. We definitely go back again and hopefully sit outside. The portion sizes are generous, and the presentation is pleasant. The prices are very reasonable compared to other places in the area we have dined at.
My husband and I visited this restaurant for brunch and was impressed by the nice atmosphere. I sat at the bar and ordered the Croque Madame and Brix’s burrito, along with chips and salsa, queso, and guacamole as an appetizer. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Our appetizer came out at the same time as our main dishes, which I mentioned to the bartender, but she attributed it to a kitchen issue. We stopped in YellowBrix in Carlsbad, New Mexico during a Summer Road Trip for dinner. After a long drive from Texas, we were starving! We had the chicken tortilla soup (no photo), salmon, tacos and fettuccine with shrimp! Everything was delicious! It hit the spot and filled our tummies!
