It’s taken me a few weeks to find the right words, but I want to sincerely thank Grace, Bobby, and the entire team at Shives Funeral Home. They took exceptional care of our family during one of the most difficult times in our lives. Their compassion, attention to detail, and willingness to accommodate every need made the process of saying goodbye to my mom far less stressful. We’re deeply grateful for their support and kindness.

First, my mother's service was absolutely beautiful. It was everything I could have hoped for, and the actual funeral home itself is a gorgeous place for your love one's final farewell. Jake is an amazing member of their staff, and he will forever be an important part of my mother's service and burial. My family had a wonderful experience working with Shives recently with my father's passing. The level of service and attention to detail was outstanding and very much appreciated. I would recommend Shives to anyone looking in the greater Columbia area for arrangements.

Sweet Mama passed after 102 years on this earth. She was a blessing to all who knew her. As her health declined, I began to think about how to honor her final wishes. After being frustrated by the cold, "corporate mentality" of the funeral homes in our home town, a family friend recommended Shives Funeral Home in Columbia, SC. She said that Shives had an excellent reputation and she was right.
