Went in for a late dinner (around 8pm) music was BLARING more like a club than a restaurant, so we asked for a table as far away as possible (didn’t help much). We got the chips & guac, a margarita, and quesadilla, and a fish taco. The chips were warm and the guac was cool - we enjoyed both. The taco was decent and the quesadilla was good too. The margarita was disappointing- sloppy service (rim was not salted properly). The decor is on point and unique.

Bitter Honey had an open reservation on Cinco de Mayo, which no other mexican restaurant had or offered that night (in fact, Silver Iguana laughed at me when I called them a few days prior to ask). Bitter Honey opened early for Cinco de Mayo and was PACKED all day due to the holiday. We got to our reservation early and the host did their best to seat us as soon as possible- which was great! Even though the place was incredible busy, the staff did an incredible job all around, and this was a late dinner res (8:30). They were ... read more

Felt rushed by the server. Was never offered refills on our drinks. And my wife who has celiacs disease was served flour tortillas even though the tacos she ordered said gluten free on the menu. We were told that after we asked and she already started eating them. Get it together. Food tasted good though for Rochester standards, average by anywhere else.

The restaurant is cute and has a great atmosphere. Enough noise to not feel self conscious but not too loud. I ordered enchiladas and the husband had chimichanga; both were tasty and different in a good way. He had the red wine sangria which is wine forward rather than sweet which wasn’t a match for what he hoped for (I swear he always expects what he had in Mexico City), and I had a Wife-Elect which is crave worthy of you like Gin. I will agree with others that service was slow and not super attentive; we were there abo... read more

Our first time at Bitter Honey was to celebrate my wife’s new journey and it quickly became one of our favorite date night spot! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming - sometimes it can be a bit chilly inside. We love their creative cocktails/mocktails and the tacos are always packed with fresh bold flavors. The staffs are friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit and they validate your pass if you choose to park across the street lot.
